All newly submitted manuscripts undergo an automated similarity detection screening and a initial technical compliance check by the section editors. Papers that pass proceed immediately to two external peer reviewers (subject-matter specialists).

Typically, the peer-review cycle takes 30 to 90 days. Editors reconcile the reviews to determine a clear outcome: Acceptance, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejection.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial choices and, through editorial communications, assist authors in refining manuscripts. Any selected referee who feels unqualified or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse themselves.
